This course is for students who do not know much about or have never taken the TOEFL test. The course introduces students to its content and format as well basic vocabulary necessary so that they will be able not only to familiarize themselves with the test format but also study in academic institutions with English-speaking environment for a short period of time.
・Students will understand the content and format of the TOEFL test.
・Students will improve their listening and speaking skills through interactive pair and group activities in class.
・Students will be able to understand a short speech or conversations and to summarize and explain orally its main content in simple sentences in English.

Each week we will work closely with the explanatory and recorded materials of the excellent Toefl-specific textbook. The instructor will supplement some points with materials from other sources. Students will work in pairs (or a group of three if need be) either in breakout rooms or in person, reciprocally helping to develop greater listening accuracy and speaking fluency.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
