講義の概要とねらい
この授業はTOEFLをまったく知らないあるいは受験したことがない学生向けのTOEFL入門の授業である。英語の四技能のうち、特に聴解力と発話力の基礎力を磨きながら、TOEFLのテスト形式になれることを目指す。また短期留学に必要な基礎的な語彙を学ぶ。
到達目標
・TOEFLの出題形式や内容に親しむこと。
・クラス内でのペアワークやグループワークを通して聴解力と発話力の向上させること。
・短いスピーチや会話を聴き、要点を理解したうえでその要点を短文で要約し英語を使って表現することができること。

授業の進め方
We continue to explore various issues using audio lectures (TOEFL) and discussions. Students are expected to study the vocabulary and come to class prepared for a discussion. In addition to improving their listening and speaking skills, students will learn basic skills that are essential for creating and delivering effective presentations. The class is highly interactive. Therefore, students’ strong commitment and active participation are the keys to success, not only for themselves, but also for the entire class.

成績評価の基準及び方法
Class participation: 20% (Evaluation will be based on attitude, contribution, improvement, and a willingness to learn. Absences and late arrivals will result in a lower grade. )
Vocabulary quizzes: 20%
Speech: 30%
Exam: 30%
