講義の概要とねらい
すべての「英語スピーキング演習」の科目は、その名のとおり、学生の話す力を伸ばすことを目標としている。発表以外の場においては、効果的に話すためには効果的に聞くことも必要となることから、これらの科目の授業や宿題においては、互いに話し合う練習やきちんと聞く練習を行う。
「英語スピーキング演習第七」の主なねらいは、３、４人の話者の間で聞き話すことを通じて効果的な口頭によるコミュニケーションを行うことである。また、教科書や授業で導入された単語や文法が使えるようにすることも、授業の目標のひとつである。
到達目標
この授業科目を履修することにより、学生は、３、４人またはそれ以上からなるグループでさまざまなトピックについて話し合うのに必要な技術や方法をよく知ることができる。

授業の進め方
The class is highly interactive. Each week, we will explore a different issue using Keynote Advanced (TED Talks) as well as discussions. Students are expected to watch the assigned video clip, complete all readings, study the vocabulary, and come to class prepared for a discussion. Throughout the course, students develop the basic skills that are essential for delivering effective presentations.

成績評価の基準及び方法
The grade for the quarter will be determined as follows:
Class participation: 30% (Evaluation will be based on attitude, contribution, improvement, and a willingness to learn. Absences and late arrivals will result in a lower grade.)
Midterm Presentation: 30 %
Final Presentation: 40%
