Course description and aims

You will study history focusing on "people".
"People" have been spinning history.
While touching on the perspectives of art history, archeology, literature and thought history, we will analyze history focusing on "people".

Student learning outcomes

1)To understand what it means to think of history focusing on"people".
2)To acquire multilateral viewpoints.

Class 7 Historical women ③ ―Women in literature. To think about marriage and divorce from works of Ihara Saikaku.
Class 8 Historical men ① ―Think about samurai's view on life and death.(1) To think about what self-immolation is.
Class 9 Historical men ② ―To think about "Akoh Incident".(1) To know the truth of "Akoh Incident".

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
