講義の概要とねらい
本講義は、主に文学作品や映画作品における近代以降の都市⽂化の諸相について扱います。この講義での「都市」とは、たんなる建築的な構造物ではなく、そのなかに住まう⼈間の営みと構造物との関係によって⽣み出されている都市表象のことです。授業は教員による講義と、学⽣のディスカッションとグループ発表で構成されます。「都市はテクストである」という観点から、都市を扱ったや「テクストとしての都市」を理解する手がかりとなる理論を紹介しながら、都市を扱った芸術作品で描かれている表象を分析します。授業を通して、ふだん⾒過ごしている都市の諸相に気づく想像⼒と、その想像力の助けとなる人文学的な知識を学⽣と共有するのが本講義の狙いです。授業の最後では個人あるいはグループによる発表をする予定です。

（３） 近代都市を扱った芸術作品に触れ、その背景となっている都市の歴史・社会・⽂化を知ること。
（４） 芸術作品における「視点」や「主体性」といった問いにアプローチするための理論的なコンセプトを理解すること。

| 第4回 | Walking as poiesis [online seminar] | Students understand the significance placed on "walking" by artists and writers in urban space in 20th century. |
| 第5回 | Gaze of a tourist and the sacred ritual of everyday [pre-recorded lecture] | Students understand the concept of the "society as spectacle" |

授業時間外学修（予習・復習等）
学修効果を上げるため，教科書や配布資料等の該当箇所を参照し，「毎授業」授業内容に関する予習と復習（課題含む）をそれぞれ概ね100分を目安に行うこと。
