Course description and aims
A synergetic society gives rise to the emergence of new social phenomena which cannot be made by alone bringing out the capabilities of each other's. After all synergy means making the most of opportunities that diversity provides. Though synergy is becoming increasingly important in complex society of our age, it is improbable to grow. We try to explain the formation and expansion of synergy from the viewpoints of instrumental and consummatory dimension to explore its multifaceted significance.
The aim of this course is to give a synergetic opportunity for awareness in confronting real life. The development of synergetic society depends on whether synergetic activities produce meaningful social value for public interest. The starting point of synergy lies in the occurrence of synergetic events. Therefore, we hold small-group workshops to create a synergetic experience in the final stage of our course making good use of broaden knowledge of synergy from the beginning. In this process, it is desirable to imagine what a non-synergetic society is like so that you can discern the attitudes toward synergetic society. We hope each student to be an active agent of opening the way to the future motivated by our course considering appropriate utilization of technology which is progressing very rapidly.

The goal of this course is to raise high awareness and search ideal way of life to create a synergetic society with deep understanding of theory and specific mechanism.

Class flow
Topics are to be learned through lectures and discussion on important issues. Students are required to read related chapter before attending classes. Classes are created to raise distinguished awareness between lecturers and students mutually holding some workshops.

| Class 7 | Business science and Synergy（Yasuo Tateoka） | Referring to the theory of management, SHIEN-ology is introduced to realize synergy in actual business arena. Also the participants experience synergy through SHIEN-ology workshop. |
Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

※Please take note that June 5 (Fri) is a Friday but is part of the Wednesday course schedule.
