If the number of registered students exceeds the capacity by 2 pm on June 18th, a lottery system will be used to determine which students are admitted.
The registered students will receive emails notifying whether or not such lottery took place by noon, June 22nd.
If you were given approval for this course through the pre-registration procedure, then you are officially approved and you will not be included in the lottery.

This course is designed for students to understand the outline of social trends, even without preliminary knowledge. The lecturers will explain broad pictures and recent trends of topics in each class, as shown below.
This course aims to develop ability of each student to be more successful in the real world with knowledge and views regarding domestic and international social trends.

Class1 - Class6:Lectures, Class7:Lecture and Final Report
This is a three-day intensive course, and dates and time periods are as follows:
August 11th: Class 1(Period 3-4), Class 2(Period 5-6), Class 3(Period 7-8)
August 12th: Class 4(Period 3-4), Class 5(Period 5-6), Class 6(Period 7-8)
August 19th: Class 7 + Writing up final report (Period 3-4)
Students are required to attend all classes throughout the three days.

Materials will be provided on OCW-i in advance and projected in the class room.
Assessment will be based on attendance and contribution to classes (60%), and report at the end of the course (40%).
If you are absent from a class, regardless of the reason, points are subtracted from the evaluation portion of the "attendance and contribution to classes."
There are no make-up assignments.
Read the course materials posted on OCW-i to find out the content of the class you missed.
Details of the requirements of the report will be explained in the first class meeting.
Prospective students should have interests in social torends.
