Course description and aims

The instructor wants to develop a learning community on the topic of "creating a collaborative learning community, and following each one's bliss", in pursuit of broad growth as a unique human being on this planet. In the first half, we will go to World Natural Heritage Yakushima Island to reconnect us to others, nature and ourselves. Remembering that we are all children of the earth will be the basis to create the sustainable future. (In the second half, we read some classic books carefully together. And there are two things to learn through the experience. The first is holistic care skills. The other is the technique for creating a participation space that facilitates workshops and constructive dialogue. Students draw on each of their thoughts and knowledge to learn the skills and spirit of facilitators, evolving on the interactive path to great learning and creations. )

Student learning outcomes

Applicable How instructors' work experience benefits the course
I have been to Yakushima island for 30 years. I taught the intensive summer class of the graduate school of Rikkyo University for 10 years. I have offered many mindful retreats for busy adults who are woking hard in this society. Based on these experiences, I would like to facilitate students to experience the rich natural environment and learning each other in summer intensive course.
