Course description and aims

In this lecture we deepen some kind of contemplation with "the life" by passing through consideration over the meaning of life and the actual feeling or the death.
We read books which represent the twentieth century in this subject “On IKIGAI“ and “Death and Dying “ carefully, and repeat the discussion with the participants and are finally intended that we find a beginning to discover a meaning of "the life" for each person

Two times of reports will have about 2,500 words each, which should be about 5,000 words in total. In addition, discussion and presentation are extremely important in this lecture. I strongly require sincere and independent participation awareness of participants.

Student learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) think about the meaning of “IKIGAI” and “the death”.
2) discuss over “IKIGAI” and “the death” and consider it and then make a presentation.
3) grasp the essence of expression based on self-experience and emotion by words.

Class flow

Each time important sentences of the book are pointed out, participants discuss them in groups of about four people and write essay.
