Course description and aims

The aim of this class is to practice peer review of papers by reading and critiquing papers written by you peers, while at the same time giving them valuable advice on how to improve their papers.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this class, students will be able to acquire critical thinking skills and provide appropriate peer review advice.

Class flow

Instructors will give instructions on how to begin peer review activities in the first four classes, then students review peer's essay.

Course schedule/Required learning

Class 1 Introduction, and determination of theme of the essay. Writing the short-essay.
Class 2 The Chicago style Understand the Chicago style.
Class 3 Mini- peer review. Experience peer-review based on the Chicago style. Writing the essay (due date is 5th class).
Class 4 Reviewing appropriate peer-review approach. Understand appropriate ways of peer-review.
Class 5 Face-to-face peer-review for the Essay. Peer-review of the essay. After the class, each student revise according to points of the peer-review.
Class 6 On-line peer review 1. Online peer-review and revise the essay accordingly.
Class 7 On-line peer review 2 Online peer-review and revise the essay accordingly.and how you think they should be solved.
Class 8 Summary Understand characteristics of online review.
