Course description and aims
This course gives an overview of the human body image presented in media art. You will appreciate various artworks which use technology such as virtual reality, artificial intellect and genetic technology. You will also lean about the body of handicapped person. Then you will create or plan your own artworks.
This course has three aims. The first is to get familiar with media art. The second is to understand the influence of development of technology on human body image and ethics. The third is to experience artistic creation or planning.
Student learning outcomes
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Obtain an artistic thinking and creativity which can be applied to an scientific research.
2) Analytically and comprehensively convey their aesthetical impressions to others.
3) Grasp multiple meanings of works of art through discussions with others.
