Course description and aims

This course argues the development of technology from the ancient to just before the Industrial Revolution. It is to understand technology as the basis of society, and to know the people who supported technology.

Student learning outcomes

1) Students should become to be able to explain the outline of the nature of ancient technology.
2) Students should become to be able to explain the outline of the nature of technology in the middle ages.
3) Students should became to be able to give simple explanation about the difference of technology above and techno-science.

Class flow

At the beginning of every class, I give short explanation on questions of comment sheets of the former lecture, then start lecture of the day. After Q & A, students make comment sheet.
