Course description and aims

This course provides precious opoertunity to study about technology and intelectual property law for the common sense of scientists and engeneers. This course is fit for prospected students of Patent attorney. This course lecturers(Hironao Kaneko, Yozo Agata, Masataka Ohta, Tomoko Sugano, Kanako Inokuchi, Morihiro Okamoto, Tetsuji Tsujikawa, Shinobu Hirose, Norihisa Ogawa, Keishi Sugiyama, Hideo Ogura). This course is succession of "Science Technology and Intellectural".
Many patent attoenrys are practicing the alumni of Tokyo Institute of Technology. The patent attorney is the profession to patenting intelectural property and protecting the client's intellectual property right. This process is necessary to gain the fund that is necessary to continue rearch work and invention by entrepreners. In 2012, the number of the sucessuful candidates of the national patent attorney exam became 47 that occupies 5.8% of all.

Student learning outcomes

Understand whole intellectual property law system in Japan and competition law for international businesses.
Understand the intellectual property establising conditions, procedure, infringement suite etc.
