This course is aimed at developing a proposal for an international development project through group work. Suppose you are an expert consultant in a project, and you are requested to recommend development policies and projects to politicians and economic leaders in a developing country. It is necessary for the developing country to implement policies and projects which balance social and economic dimensions. Prioritization of policies or projects is essential, since the available budget is insufficient to cover all projects. Thus, politicians and economic leaders will need to select this specific policy and project as a priority issue for their limited resources. Students will propose an effective project in order to achieve the selected policy(ies), and then present an outline of the project which will include the project procedures, its side-effects on other sectors/policies, a budget plan with its financial resources and methods to be used for procurement.
Enhance and improve presentation and communication skills through group discussion.
