Course description and aims

This lecture is prepared for the explanation and discussion about the business ecosystem theory and practice that is actively researched in the strategic management field in recent years. This lecture is consists of Business Ecosystem I and Business Ecosystem II. The lecture from the practitioners and the presentation based on the original research by the students are included in the schedule.
The aim of this lecture is to understand the concept of the business ecosystem and develop the capability for the original analysis and proposition based on the business ecosystem research.
This lecture consists of the module 1 and 2, explained in the following section.

Student learning outcomes

The target of this lecture is following three points. Firstly, students will be able to understand the basic stream and real case for the basics of the business ecosystem. Secondly, students will be able to understand the analytical process and methodology for the business ecosystem. Thirdly, students will be able to analyze and propose for the objectives which is originally selected by the students.

Class flow

This lecture consists of the three modules. Each module consists of five lectures. First Module is prepared for the understanding of the previous works. Students will required to read the papers and make a presentation of the previous researches. Second module is prepared for the understanding of the academic analysis and business practices. The researchers and practitioners will be invited for the lecture about their research and practice presentation. the third module is consists of the methodological explanation and presentations by the students. The lecturer will show the methodological process and require the group presentation of the original business ecosystem research.
