This lecture series is designed to provide students with practical training in the methodologies used to turn cutting-edge research and development at Tokyo Tech into innovations.
The fields of research and development are diverse, including condensed matter physics, applied chemistry, mechanical physics, production engineering, robotics, electronic physics, electrical and electronic engineering, biotechnology, nanotechnology, information environment, computational engineering, and natural science, with two cases per quarter. However, this lecture does not presuppose knowledge in any particular field, and will be explained in a basic manner for students who are not specialists.
To be able to evaluate and understand the value of advanced science and technology from a technology management perspective, and to formulate a business development plan to turn this into innovation.

A module consists of three sessions: (1) case studies by a selected researcher, (2) group discussion, and (3) group presentations, which will be held twice in a quarter. The first class will be an introductory session.

Deliverables in each lecture
Evaluation on the basis of students' contribution to each class, group presentations and the quarter-end assignment. Details will be given in the first class.
