Course description and aims

This lecture provides an overview of user research methods and workshops, for both quantitatively and qualitatively. This aims to grasp the advantages and disadvantages of each method.

Student learning outcomes

The aims of this lecture are:
1. to grasp the characteristics of quantitative research,
2. to grasp the characteristics of qualitative research,
3. to grasp the overview of workshop for user research.

This lecture consists of 5 talks and 3 exercises.

Class 4 4. qualitative research Understanding the metrics by interview and observation.
Class 5 5. Exercise 1 (targetting the topic and deciding the method) Targetting the topic and deciding the method for the presentation.
Class 6 6. Exercise 2 (conducting the research) Conducting the research.
Class 7 7. overview of workshop methods Understanding the overview of workshop methods.
Class 8 8. Exercise 3 (presentation and discussion) Presenting the results and holding a discussion session.
