Course description and aims
Students will understand legal theory and methodology with a focus on civil disputes. Hironao Kaneko is in charge 2018 spring. By learning how to handle basic legal documents, students in this course acquire skills which can be applied to examining legal problems. There are many branches of law, but the goal of this course is for students to learn about civil dispute settlements and mechanisms of the civil justice system. In addition, this course covers modern cases such as complex lawsuits and internet issues for specific examples of civil cases, and students study related articles, judgments, etc.
Student learning outcomes
Understand basic legal theory and methodology necessary for graduate research. Students will understand the comparative law study especially between Japanese and U.S. Laws (in some cases British and EU laws).
