This course provides the knowledge concerning the concept of cascaded use of resources for the optimization of resource use efficiency, and the methodologies for the production of materials and energy to minimize waste materials and energy.
At the end of this course, students will be able to: 1) understand the methodologies for maximizing the resource use efficiency through the cascade utilization of resources and utilization of renewable resources; 2) understand the concept for minimizing the waste production by utilizing wastes as a raw material for other processes; 3) understand the utilization of resources and wastes that contribute to the construction of a recycling-oriented society by combining the above-mentioned two items.
Biomass, Biorefining, Biogas, Composting, Cascade use of biomass
✔ Specialist skills | ✔ Intercultural skills | Communication skills | ✔ Critical thinking skills | ✔ Practical and/or problem-solving skills |
In the first half of the class, a summary of the previous lecture are provided. In the latter half, the main points are discussed in detail. Students are asked to provide solutions to some of the questions that have been posed as necessary. Always check the required learning for each class and be sure to complete them as part of preparation and review.
