Course description and aims

This course is designed for students with work experience as a member of society to acquire the Graduate Attributes (GAs) that doctoral students are required to fulfill by obtaining credits and GAs (GA0D and GA1D) through their experience and achievements (including those at past employers) in work activities as a member of society (including those continuing to the present) at companies, etc. The course certifies that the student has already acquired the Graduate Attributes (GA) that doctoral students are required to fulfill, based on the student's experience and achievements (including those at past employers) in business and other business activities (including those that continue to the present).
In view of the content of the GA, in principle, students must have at least five years of work experience (or at least three years for those who have completed a master's degree) at a company. However, this does not apply to those who have less than five years of work experience, if they are deemed to have experience and achievements that meet the GA requirements.
The maximum number of credits that can be earned through the Doctoral Recurrent Training is 4 in total. This course is offered as 1Q-2Q: A, 3Q-4Q: B, with 1 credit (Doctoral Recurrent Training 1), 2 credits (2), 3 credits (3), and 4 credits (4) in each Q.
The total number of credits that can be earned through "Doctoral Recurrent Training" (including "Doctoral Recurrent Education Development Training") cannot exceed 4.

The student shall confirm in advance with his/her academic supervisor the policy on the number of credits to be earned and the preparation of documents objectively proving that the student has already fulfilled GA0D and GA1D by his/her past work experience and achievements (including those at past employers). Examples of experience and achievements that may be considered for credit in this course are as follows.

Experience in leading organizations and subordinates in business, etc. within a company.
Leading activities related to standardization (*)
Experience in leading the planning and operation of events that can be demonstrated externally.

(*) The course must not be duplicated with the "Doctoral Research" course. (This must be an independent activity from the doctoral research.)

Based on the confirmation with the academic supervisor, students are required to prepare documents and submit them to the course via the academic supervisor. In addition to their experience and achievements, students should explain in detail how they have acquired each of the GA0D and GA1D items in their experience and achievements.
The materials prepared shall be submitted to the graduate major via the student's academic supervisor. The graduate major will certify the credits earned and the number of credits to be earned through this course based on the materials submitted by the student.
When a student is approved for credit and the number of credits earned in the course, the student shall report the course in the most recent Q in which the student can report the graduate major. The graduate major will then report grades based on such accreditation.
If you try to take this course at the very end of the doctoral program, there may not be time in the schedule for you to declare the course after the graduate major has been approved.
