Course description and aims

Thermodynamics gives the principles of the phenomenon in various kinds of engineering operations, which are used for the conversions of energy and materials, and is one of the most important basic fields. In this course, students understand and learn how to apply mainly three thermodynamic laws, enthalpy, entropy, cycle, free energy, equilibrium, etc.

Student learning outcomes

After studying this subject, the students should be able to give a guiding principle for the selection, design, etc. of the engineering operations.

Keywords

Enthalpy, Entropy, Cycle, Free energy, Equilibrium

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

Lectures with exercise problems to deepen understanding of the subject
