This course offers knowledge on mechatronics technology including mechanics, electronics and computer software. Firstly definition and applications of mechatronics will be explained. The elements of mechatronics technology including mechanics (mechanical elements and mechanisms), functional elements (actuators and sensors), electronic circuits and microcomputers (hardware and software) will then be explained. Finally case studies of applications of mechatronics technology such as robots will be taught.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand various mechatronics systems such as robot
2. Understand mechatronics devices and their features and usage
3. Design simple mechatronics systems
Mechatronics technology, mechanical element, functional element, mechanism, actuator, sensor, control theory, computer control, microcomputer
|✔ Specialist skills||Intercultural skills||Communication skills||Critical thinking skills||✔ Practical and/or problem-solving skills|
Important issues are summarized at the end of lecture every week. Students are expected to understand what they learn by themselves.
