The class reviews history on the theories, methods and systems of urban design in the world, the development and the phenomena of cities as well, demonstrating a lot of practices, so as to comprehend the values inherent in cities.
Through the lectures of the class, the participants must make themselves to understand the overview the characteristics and the historical flow of developments on urban design. Additionally, the methods to analyze urban environments and space will be cultivated.

The class is composed of lectures by the lecturer and presentations by participants.
The guidance will be held in the beginning of the 4th Quarter (around first week of December).

Class 1 | The first part of class is lectures on history of example cities in the world, through the theories, methods and systems of urban design, actual development and the phenomena, demonstrating many related examples. Reference for the lecture will be handed out each time, as needed.
Grading marks is based on the result of the assignments during the quarter and additionally the rate of attendance.
