Course description and aims

Targeted mainly at students affiliated with the International Graduate Program, students experience architectural design related to actual architecture projects and the practical work related to construction management by completing internships at first class architectural design firms that handle architectural design business. The objective is for students to cultivate the practical skills, ethical sensibilities, and expertise of first class architects.
Besides,the instructor has to be the first-class registered architect who has plentiful business experience.

The purpose is to learn the way of making concepts, drawing, conducting meetings, and the workflow of practical design works in one of the best architects' offices.

Class flow

In this course aimed at IGP students, a design firm for training is decided on through meetings with prospective students and the instructor. Later, the instructor negotiates with each design firm decide on training schedule, conditions, etc. and to communicate this information to the student being dispatched. It is generally a 3 week training program, with the content of the training left to the guidance of each design firm. After completion of training, students are asked to submit and present reports, and together with evaluation forms the persons directing the trainings, grades are awarded.
