Students learn methods for solving a variety of problems with atmospheric and wind flow related to local atmospheric cycles and cities, while preserving human safety, functionality, and convenience.
In this course, students use observations and simulation technology as well as knowledge in fluid mechanics to examine the disaster conditions from an urban scale to the scale of individual buildings and structures subject to various natural disturbances in the atmosphere. Students will learn methods for elucidating the mechanisms of and proposing responses to urban disasters and house collapse from local wind gusts and torrential rain caused by instability in the atmosphere, as well as environmental issues such as diffusion and heat.
