Course description and aims

In order to create an innovative idea and commercialization of the idea we need a collaboration among people with different background. An innovative idea will not be generated without an insight which comes from the close encounter of diversified opinions. In this class we present a theory of dialogue which elucidate insights and do the practice of communication. Besides, we will provide an opportunity to do project work for " creation of business for facilitation of active learning in primary and secondary education or workplace” in order to let students acquire project management skills.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will:
1. Have acquired fundamental knowledge about concept of insights and dialogue and communication.
2.Be able to make sequence of the dialogue to elucidate insights.
3.Have gained experience in project management among people with different backgrounds.
4. Have developed communication and presentation skills.

Class flow

In the first part of this course, the instructor informs students the concept of communication or dialogue skills to elucidate insights and facilitation process for active learning in work place and how they are used in the leading edge educational practices in Japan and abroad. In the latter part, students are allocated to a group with primary school teachers in Ota-ku or business persons in Tokyo and propose a business plan to facilitate active learning in work place or primary schools .
