This practical training is an advanced course for undergraduates in architectural design and drawing, a key course in the department of Architecture and Building Engineering. Since students at this level have already learned drawing methods for basic architectural design, this course will provide design and drawing methods of highly complex architecture, combining knowledge from the studies of architectural design, architectural planning, building structure, building materials, urban design and building environment.
The course presents techniques such as deciphering the urban context of megacities like Tokyo, a global city, and reflecting them in the concept of a real architectural design, in hopes that students will taste the pleasure of simulating a real-world architectural design work environment.
By the end of this course, students will acquire the following skills:
1) The skills to present more advanced architectural design drawings based on drafting of accurate architectural designs
2) The skills to create architectural design concepts based on social demands
3) The skills to create solutions for the structure, equipment, and planning of highly complex architecture.
4) The skills to explain the concepts of the space and form of the architecture to a third party in an accurate and stimulating manner using words.

They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Because of the capacity of a drawing room, only students of Architectural faculty can take this course.
In this class, three different studios including architectural design, architectural planning, urban design will be provided independently. Therefore, the students who take this class have to choose a wishing one among the above three studios.
