Course description and aims

It is important for maintainging environmental conditions in buildings to monitor and measure the environmental items, such as air, thremal, water, lighting and acoustic environments.
This course introduces the measurering method of the water, heat, air, light, sound environment in buildings for understanding building services and carries out the experiments of each environmental condition.

Student learning outcomes

The students will be able to understand the basic information of method of measureing for each environmental item in this course.
Furthermore, understand the buiding environmental engineering by measureing and monitoring environmental conditions.

Keywords

Building environmental engineering, Measuring method, Maintenance of buildings

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

In the first half of the course, lectures about environmental measuring methods are given. In the latter half, students should carry out the experiment about environmental conditions and make a presentation and review about environmental measurement.
