Buildings are fundamental elements of cities and various building activities form the ciry. Urban planning is a way to control those building acitivities and its purpose is to promote the progress of the city by coordinating buildings with other urban elements. This course explains basic elements that constitute urban planning and provides technical methods of urban planning and their backgrounds and meanings.
This course is intended for students of architectural course to understand basic minimum knowledge on urban planning.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) understand minimum required knowledge of urban planning for students for architectural profession
2) understand minimum required knowledge of land use control for students for architecural design
3) understand detailed methods of land use planning
