Course description and aims

The purpose of an internship program is to enable graduate students to gain valuable work experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths. Experiential learning is an educational plan that integrates knowledge and theory learned in academic study with practical application and skills development in a professional
setting. The internship content is individualized with the student setting objectives in concert with academic study.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) acquire firsthand information about the business environment
2) apply academic knowledge and skills to the business environment
3) experience problems and contribute to solutions in the business environment
4) acquire trends in the related field
5) develop oral and written communication skills.

Assessment criteria and methods

Internships are part of an educational program and carefully evaluated for academic credit. 
An internship plan must be submitted and approved by an academic supervisor and board members of internship committee before students start the program. The internship report and presentation also must be submitted and approved by the above-mentioned members before credit can be given.
