Course description and aims

Students carry out a short-term (1-2 weeks) research project in a laboratory which he/she chooses (excluding the lab for the master degree research). Through interaction with the supervisor and members in the host laboratory, this course aims at learning different ways of thinking in performing research and/or new experimental methods. Experiences acquired in this course are expected to provide fresh ideas on research strategy of his/her own master degree project, and eventually lead to cultivation of researchers with a broad spectrum of viewpoint.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) gain new insights into their master degree research projects
2) broaden the viewpoint as researchers in science and technology

Class flow

Students arrange the schedule of the research project with the host supervisor in advance. Students then carry out the research project under instruction by the host supervisor, and submit a report on the project when it is over. The contents of the report will be presented by the host supervisor.
