Course description and aims

The students set their research topic in the field of Life Science and Technology through discussion with their supervisors, and then understand significance of the topic and define problems to be solved. The students carry out the research work with design of suitable experiments/analyses, and make efforts to reach to the goals through hypothesis and verification. Throughout the research period, the students are expected to learn advanced knowledge and techniques in the field of Life Science and Technology, as well as acquire skills to summarize the results and make oral presentation.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Understand the background and significance of problems in the field of Life Science and Technology,
2. Design the research strategies and plans to solve the problems,
3. Consider and discuss about the results, then acquire hypothesis and verification skills,
4. Learn advanced knowledge and techniques in the field of Life Science and Technology,
5. Acquire skills in making oral presentation and explaining their own results and ideas,
6. Understand safety and ethics required for research activities.
