Course description and aims

To Doctoral students make presentations on their research results at domestic conferences in Japanese or other foreign languages. This course aims to cultivate academic international presentation and communication skills, and also to clarify student's research work position in society/academia and its importance through the process for preparing and giving a oral or poster presentation at a conference or workshop.

By the end of the course, students will have the following skills:

Class flow

Students prepare the presentation before a domestic conference and submits an abstract. Students must have presentation material checked by his/her academic supervisors and hold a rehearsal before the presentation in the lab. After the presentation is completed, student summarizes the presentation, printout of program/abstract, and submits report to the head of the course.

Assessment criteria and methods

Specifics of the assessment criteria and methods, being in accordance with the student learning outcomes 1)-2), will be determined prior to the start of the course. The supervisor will evaluate it with the assessment criteria.
The supervisor submits the results to the course educational committee with the related documents, and after the document inspection, the department representatives determine the final acceptance.
