Course description and aims

This course introduces the fundamentals and recent advances of polymer synthesis and polymer reaction. Students will learn the synthetic methods of polymers and polymer reactions. Moreover, this course provides an opportunity to learn about frontier researches in the fields related to polymer chemistry.

Student learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to: 1) Explain the concepts of step- and chain-polymerizations. 2) Explain the fundamentals of polymer reaction. 3) Explain unique structured polymers. 4) Explain functional polymers.

Keywords

Polymer synthesis, Polymer reaction, Polymer materials

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

The detailed contents of the classes will be delivered using Zoom. Every time, students are given exercise problems related to the lecture given that day to solve.
