Course description and aims

This is to learn modeling, computer simulation and data processing that is required for design of functional material and material process in industrial field relating to chemical science and engineering. This is also intended to cultivate the communication ability on development of research.

Student learning outcomes

Chemical structure and properties of compounds are important for design of functional material, and solvent properties are for design of material process in industrial fields. This class aims to increase the knowledge of design and optimization of materials and material process by modeling and computer simulations. This is also intended to cultivate the ability of finding and solving issues in academic or industrial carrier plan in future (A0D or P0D) and to learn the ability of leading research development in targeted academic or industrial fields (A1D or P1D).

Keywords

modeling, design of material, design of material process

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

Students will conduct the modeling or computer simulations to design of materials and material process and give the presentation regarding to the results.

Course schedule/Required learning
