[Summary of the course] This course lectures on the latest trends in gas hydrate research based on the current situation of natural gas shift as a respond to resource/environmental problems caused by the present energy use. Especially, distribution and formation mechanism and influence on global environments of methane hydrate are introduced based on the latest results of field investigation and sample analysis.
[Aim of the course] To understand the latest trends in the research on resource/environmental problems is essential for students in applied chemistry. The purpose of this course is to find the latest results of a scientific investigation of methane hydrate and its impact on resource/environmental problems.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Explain distributions and formation mechanism of methane hydrate
2) Explain the impact of methane hydrate on global environment
3) Acquire the knowledge of some cutting-edge technologies for environmental analysis
Methane hydrate, Resource/Environmental problems, Environmental analysis
