[Summary of the lecture] In this lecture, various basic characteristics (electronic and steric effects) of organofluorine compounds and metal organofluorine reagents will be explained.
[Aim of the lecture] Organofluorine chemistry is of industrial and academic importance as pharmaceuticals and materials. Students understand basic characteristics of organofluorine compounds and their metal organofluorine, and then they acquire the ability to design new organofluorine compounds as promising pharmaceuticals and functional materials.
By the end of this course, students acquire the ability to:
(1) design organofluorine compounds as potentially effective pharmaceuticals and functional materials.
(2) explain electronic and steric effects of organofluorine compounds and metal organofluorine reagents.

This lecture will proceed in the following order: electronic and steric effects, reaction mechanism, metalorganofluorine chemistry, fluorous chemistry. In the last day, practice problems and interpretation of them will be carried out to confirm the level of understanding.
