In this lecture, we will explain the industrial synthesis of Fine Chemicals "organic process chemistry" for students who have taken organic chemistry from 1st to 6th.
By taking this lecture, you will acquire the industrial synthesis of Fine Chemicals "organic process chemistry".
Fine Chemicals, organic process chemistry
✔ Specialist skills | Intercultural skills | Communication skills | Critical thinking skills | ✔ Practical and/or problem-solving skills |
This lecture proceeds in the order of the following contents. In the last round, exercises and commentary for confirming comprehension degree will be implemented.
Course schedule | Required learning | |
---|---|---|
Class 1 | Basics of process chemistry | Explain the organic chemistry of carbohydrates. |
Class 2 | Example of process chemistry (1) Reaction development and extraction | Explain the organic chemistry of carbohydrates. |
Class 3 | Example of process chemistry (2) Reaction development and crystallization | Explain the organic chemistry of amino acids, peptide, and protein. |
Class 4 | Example of process chemistry (3) Reaction development and distillation | Explain the organic chemistry of amino acids, peptide, and protein. |
Class 5 | Example of process chemistry (4) Asymmetric synthesis using enzymes | Explain the organic chemistry of lipid. |
Class 6 | Example of process chemistry (5) Asymmetric synthesis using a catalyst | Explain the organic chemistry of lipid. |
Class 7 | Practice problems and interpretation for confirming the level of understanding | Practice problems and interpretation for confirming the level of understanding |
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
McMurry Organic Chemistry, international edition of 8th or 9th revised edition (Cengage Learning) ISBN-13: 978-0840054531
Study Guide with Student Solutions Manual for McMurry's Organic Chemistry, 8th edition (Cengage Learning) ISBN-13: 978-0840054456
Practice problems and interpretation for confirming the level of understanding (90%), level of class participation (10%) (The level of class participation will be calculated by discussion, small examination and so on in the lecture.)
Although there are no conditions for taking this course, it is desirable to take organic chemistry first to sixth.
