The instructor in this course will teach the fundamentals of dealing with mass balance and energy balance in chemical processes, which form the foundation of developing, designing, and operating such processes. Students will also learn about the energy in materials (heat of formation, heat of combustion) as well as the heat balance of a reaction system.
The aim is for students to learn ways of determining the energy balance and mass balance of various chemical processes.
1) Explain thermochemical properties of compounds
2) Explain thermochemical equation and Hess's law
3) Explain heat change of a reaction process
heat of reaction, heat of formation, thermochemical equation
✔ Specialist skills | Intercultural skills | Communication skills | Critical thinking skills | Practical and/or problem-solving skills |
The detailed contents of the classes will be shown using blackboards or PowerPoint slides on a projector.
At the end of class, students are given exercise problems related to the lecture given that day to solve.
