The physical properties of organic materials are not determined only by their chemical structure. The physical properties are significantly influenced by various factors such as higher order structure composed of crystallites and amorphous regions, texture, processing history, processing method and environmental conditions. Following Advanced Course in Physical Properties of Organic Materials A, this course discusses various factors influencing the physical properties of organic/polymeric materials and fundamentals of the measurement and analysis techniques.
1. Understand the thermal properties of polymers
2. Understand the fiber formation
3. Understand the properties of semi-crystalline polymers
thermal properties, fiber formation, semicrystalline polymers
|✔ Specialist skills||Intercultural skills||Communication skills||Critical thinking skills||✔ Practical and/or problem-solving skills|
Before coming to class, students should read the course schedule and check what topics will be covered. Required learning should be completed outside of the classroom for preparation and review purposes.
