The main purpose of this lecture "Exercise in Physical Metallurgy" is to learn the basics of physical metallurgy such as defect structure, vacancy, dislocation, plane defect, diffusion which are necessary for the material design through short excise in every lecture and homework. This lecture is mainly provided for the students who have not systematically studied metallurgy in their undergraduate course, but it is possible take this class for the students who want to understand basic physical metallurgy much deeper. Since this class provides excise, there is a limitation of the maximum number of students. The students have to take “Excise in Material Design” together. The students who want to take this class must contact to Prof. Hideki Hosoda by Friday 17o'clock prior to the first lecture of "Exercise in Materials Design" in 1Q (April 5th, 2019) via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Students who want not to take "Excise in Material Design" but to take this class only can get a permission in case of vacancies. This lecture is provided in Japanese only. The students who get the permission to take this class can not withdraw it because of group works in exercise.

After the short exercise, the way of thinking leading to the correct answers is provided. A few homeworks will be also provided. The students are divided in several groups for the group work. The students have to use calculators (including note PC), rulers, grid paper, data books and so on. However, using camera (with or without smart phone) or internet is not permitted.

Excise in every class and homework
Due to the effective excise, there is a limitation of the maximum number of students. The students who take ”Excise in Materials Design" have to take "Exercise in Materials Design" in 1Q together. The applicant students must contact to Prof. Hosoda by Friday 17o'clock piror to the 1st class of "Exercise in Materials Design” via email to email@example.com. If the number of applicants is too much, the students whose research in Master or Doctor course is related to Metallurgy are preferencially permitted. If the students who want to take this class only (without Exercise in Materials Design), they have to contact Prof. Hosoda by the same date and time for the application of "Exercise in Materials Design" in 1Q with the information of their major in undergraduate course and present supervisors, and they are permitted if vacancies.
9:00-18:00 in weekday, sending an email is necessary before visiting.
The students taking this class are strongly recommended to take the class "Excise in material design" together. The students who want to take this class only have to contact Prof. Hosoda pior to the registration. If the number of the applicant students is too much, students whose master or doctor research is related to metallurgy are preferentically permitted when vacancies. Research students cannot take this class. The language used is Japanese only.
