Course description and aims

The aim of this course is to understand and think about the ethical issues faced as a science and technology engineer who will get a job in a company after graduation, by using the specific examples described in outcomes of the lecture. The instructor will explain how important good faith and honesty are for scientists and engineers.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to learn about the following issues,

Preparation for members of society
Attitude as a scientist
How to select R & D themes and how to proceed
Manufacturing company organization
Work of the engineer in manufacturing companies
Japanese employment form and the role of the engineer in it
Concept of safety management

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
