Course description and aims

This experiment course aims to learn the optical and mechanical properties of the ceramic materials through the various sets of experimental works. In the first half, the fundamental experiments will be done to measure the properties mentioned above, and understand the relationship between the property and the structure of ceramics. In the last half, the advanced experiments will be planned by the studenets themselves under the guidance of the staff. Tihs advanced experiment expects to give the opportunities to grow the potential to manage the experiments and development of materials processing.

Develop the potential and skills for the researcher and developper of materials.
This course requests the studenst to pay attention to the practical use of ceramic mateirlas and their superior functionalities.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 50 minutes preparing for class and another 50 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Assessment criteria and methods

Students are requested to join and carry out all the experiments, and do the proposed tasks to judge their knowledge on the experiments and ceramics.
