(1) Understanding computer system used in this class
(2) Learning how to use application softwares
(3) Learning program construct
(4) Learning program structure
(5) Processing of a large amount of data
In these years, necessity of programming by using a programming language has been reduced compared to the past because of improvement of various application softwares. In contrast with it, the skills to use a macro language built into an application software and to process a large amount of data effectively have come to be required. In this course, students will learn how to use a macro programming language in an application software and a basic programming method required for data processing.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
Original documents are available in advance via the OCW-i system.
Learning achievement is evaluated by general exercises and exercises about each topic.
