Course description and aims

The processing and control of the texture of materials are often performed by using the physicochemical phenomena such as the phase transition, mixing and phase separation.
This course explains these phenomena for single, binary and ternary systems based on the chemical potential.

Student learning outcomes

With this course, the students acquire the skills of the model analysis on the phase transition and the phase equilibrium.

Keywords

Physical chemistry
Phase equilibrium
Phase transition
Phase separation
Phase diagram
Osmotic pressure

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

The lecture uses materials uploaded to OCW-i. In every lesson, quick question is given to investigate the degree of understanding.
