Course description and aims

Toward the carbon-neutral society construction, atomic energy and safe utilization are critically expected as "zero-carbon energy and technology". Integrated field of nuclear engineering is comprehensively introduced mainly in viewpoint of materials and chemical engineering, focused on energy theory, advanced reactor, fuel cycle, decommissioning, and back-end technology.

Student learning outcomes

This course aims at comprehensive understanding of the cocept of "Green Transformation" toward the carbon-neutral society construction by studying various energy systems, carbon circulating technology, energy materials and chemical technology centered in nuclear energy development with total energy strategy.

Keywords

carbon neutrality, zero-carbon energy, energy system, carbon circulating technology, advanced reactor, nuclear fusion, fuel cycle, back-end technology

Competencies that will be developed

Specialist skills Intercultural skills Communication skills Critical thinking skills Practical and/or problem-solving skills

Class flow

Lectures are lively distributed by zoom system. Handout materials or references will be given. Comprehension check will be made in report style for each class.
