Course description and aims

In this course, students have discussion on research and development for new medical related topics such as medical instruments and materials with Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
The aim of this course is to facilitate ability to present technical points and clinical effects clearly and effectively to medical doctors and to improve their studies by feed-backing doctors' comments.

Student learning outcomes

When one presents technologies in engineering to medical doctors, he/she must present differently from such cases to persons in engineering. Understand this difference and acquire the ability to present technologies in engineering to medical doctors.

Class flow

Six classes will be held and each class is for two or three class-hours. Each student is requested to present once per two or three classes. The visit to labs on medical research may be held in university other than Tokyo Medical and Dental University (it is not necessarily held in the fourth class).

Prerequisites (i.e., required knowledge, skills, courses, etc.)

Doctorate students who are studying medical related topics or graduate students who are studying or planning to study collaborative research with doctors with Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
It is desired that students take eight or more credits of courses in the medical-dental-engineering special course.
Such students are given priority when too many students desire to take this course.
