Course description and aims

This course provides an opportunity for students to give presentations on their progress of research in front of the supervisor. Students will incorporate the arguments into their own research.
Graduate education at Tokyo Tech is comprised of coursework education based on a structured curriculum and laboratory work characterized by individualized instruction. IPISE Academic Presentation (ECHEM) course is central to the laboratory-based education, and active learning is strongly encouraged. By enrolling in IPISE Academic Presentation (ECHEM) course and pursuing their research, students are expected to gain presentation skills necessary in the real society.

Student learning outcomes

Students will acquire the following abilities by completing IPISE Academic Presentation (ECHEM) V-X:
1) To explain research background, significance and contents to the audience from specialists' viewpoints
2) To take part in a research discussion and give appropriate comments from the specialists' viewpoints
3) To prepare documents to be presented at domestic and international conferences

Class flow

Classes are held at the academic supervisors' laboratories. The course schedule will be determined through discussions with students. In some cases, multiple laboratories may choose to hold joint classes. Some laboratories might hold classes in English. Check with your academic supervisor.
