Course description and aims

Students can learn appropriate manner as an independent researcher and engineer who performs creative activities in the public society.

Student learning outcomes

Students can learn the importance of communication and collaboration in daily creative activities through research activities in national and international research and educational organization, or through real operations in national and international government, NPO and NGO. Furthermore, students can acquire appropriate attitude as researchers an engineers.

Class flow

Students must follow the steps:
i. Determine the target organization
ii. Apply the description and schedules to the department head through the supervisor. That application forms are judged in the department meeting. Students can proceed when the department meeting approved the application.
iii. Apply the internship class to the student office.
iv. Internship in the target organization
v. Apply the report to the department head through the supervisor within two weeks after the internship.
vi. Hearing by professors including the supervisor.

Class 1 I-A or I-B (1 credit) requires continuous two weeks or total 60 hours and more. II-A or II-b (2 credits) requires continuous four weeks or total 120 hours and more. research activities in national and international research and educational organization, or through real operations in national and international government, NPO and NGO.

Assessment criteria and methods

The department meeting will judge the credit considering applied internship description, schedule and report.

Prerequisites (i.e., required knowledge, skills, courses, etc.)

Students must belong to the department of computational intelligence and systems science. This class excludes job recruitment and language exercise.

remarks
i. Students are strongly recommended to consult with their supervisors to design their internship schedules and target organization.
ii. Students should write their application forms after sufficient discussion with their supervisors and target organization. Remark that we cannot admit the case which leads to job recruitment for any company.
iii. Students should prepare non-disclosure agreement or any related contract for intellectual property if necessary.
vi. Students must apply required insurance in order for unexpected accidents.
v. Remark that following resolution of education ;committee held in Nov. 2003 could be applied.
1 when the internship plan is fixed in the class application duration, students must apply for this class in that semester.
2 when the class application duration has closed, students can apply for this class in the next semester. If we judge it is appropriate for this semester, extra application could be admitted.
