Course description and aims

This two-quarter long course aims at cultivating students academic professional knowledge in their field of study as well as basic knowledge in a broader area, with a focus on research assignments. The students conduct their original research, participate in academic discussions, and give presentations of their findings.
The aims of the aforesaid process include not only skill development in such areas as literature search and data analysis. They also include ability to present ideas and arguments effectively in academic writing and through discussions and presentations. Research Seminar courses are central to the individually personalized education, and the instructor strongly encourages active engagement. Students shall develop expertise in their field of study.

Skills to have presentation of the plan and results of on-going master thesis.
